Sacred Kingfisher nest site

... not a New Guinea mud mask!

- but a termite nest atop an old Abberton fence post, which in its turn has been adopted as a nesting 
site by Sacred Kingfishers. At the end of each breeding season the termites seal off the kingfishers nest holes 
- and every year the kingfishers return to re-excavate them in a slightly different position. 

Many broods of Sacred Kingfishers have emerged from this termite nest over the years.
