Fully inclusive Birding tours, from 2 to 7 nights, Brisbane to Brisbane
(we also provide transfers from other locations,
such as O'Reillys Rainforest Guest House
at Lamington or Mt Glorious Rainforest Getaways - birding en-route!)
Accommodation is in a Queen-size garden room, with private
facilities and
hydrotherapeutic spa in the Helidon Natural Springs Spa Resort Motel,
just five minutes from Abberton Reserve.
Each morning, after breakfast you transfer to Abberton for coffee/tea and
birding from the verandahs, where we build our day around what the birds are
doing, your own ambitions,
and any hot birding news from elsewhere in the valley.
Expert personalised guiding is available at Abberton and throughout the Lockyer Valley,
plus guided full day trips to birding hotspots further afield.
Included in your tour are:
transfers between Abberton and Brisbane (or O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guest
house,
or Mt Glorious Rainforest Getaways);
accommodation in Queen-size garden room with private facilities and natural spa bath;
light breakfast; lunch either en-route or at Abberton depending on the day’s plan.
daily transfers between Helidon Natural Springs and Abberton (five minutes);
expert personalised guiding at Abberton and throughout the Lockyer Valley;
guided half-day or full-day trips to birding hotspots further afield;
‘bottomless’ tea and coffee on the Abberton verandahs;
Not included in the tour price are:
evening meals, which are available at the Helidon Natural Springs licensed
restaurant; incidentals, such as phone calls, alcohol, etc.
Visitors are welcome to use email facilities at Abberton at no cost.
Birding tours, from 2 to 7 nights, without transfers
i.e. for the self-drive visitor.
A different tariff applies, but otherwise the programme, activities, tours etc are the same
as in Option 1 above, with the exception only of the transfers.
Birding tours combining the birds of Abberton with other birding hotspots
e.g.
O’Reilly’s Guest House at Lamington National Park:
4 nights at Abberton, plus 3 or 4 nights at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guest
House
- with transfers included between O’Reilly’s and Abberton or
vice-versa.
Mount Glorious Rainforest Getaways:
4 nights at Abberton, plus 3 or 4 nights at Mount Glorious Rainforest Getaways
- with transfers included between
Mount Glorious and Abberton or
vice-versa.

When you visit Abberton, our aim is to make it
easy for you to see birds, in a very special environment, with as much or as little guidance
as you
want.
You can bird around the property, take guided trips out to local birding
hot-spots, have help to find particular birds, or if you like - just settle
on to the verandahs
and
see what turns up.

We keep a very extensive library
of bird books, and photographs, as well as books
on just about all imaginable
naturalists topics, all of which is at guests' disposal at all times.
Whatever the time of year, the wildlife here includes seasonal specials in
addition
to the resident populations
There is no fixed agenda - we like to do whatever suits visitors' particular
preferences.
There is plenty of birding to be had from the Abberton verandahs, but there are
also plenty of
other very special bird habitats close by including sub-tropical lagoons,
rainforests and much more.
Not only do we have the best and cleanest air, water and soil - we don't even
have any light pollution!
So, if you're so inclined, you can feast yourself on some really wonderful views
of the
Southern stars and the Milky Way from Abberton.
